40th Birthday Reflections & Intentions (in Maui! 🌴)

The Road to Hana is more than just a great drive through a beautiful part of Maui.

It’s also home to the most famous and popular banana bread on the entire island.

On the plane ride from Portland to Maui a few weeks ago, Nick and I sat next to a local.

He told us that if any of his friends from the mainland come over for a visit and don’t try this special banana bread, they’ve got to get off of the plane and make the two-hour round trip drive to go and get it.

When I finally tasted the banana bread for myself, I understood his point.

It’s perfectly moist and flavorful. It’s also served oh so fresh and warm.

The first time I tried it, I was so immersed in the experience that I didn’t really notice the shiny metallic label proudly stuck to the top of its saran wrap covering.

Fortunately, we bought a second loaf to take home because when I finally got around to reading that banana bread label, I had to chuckle.

“Halfway to Hana: 40 years of excellence. 1983-2023”

This banana bread feels kinda like my new spirit animal. 😂

Because we share a birthday.

I was there in Maui to celebrate and reflect upon my own 40 years of existence.

So this felt like another fun wink from the Universe.

Just like my plane tickets to and from Maui.

I took Hawaiian Airlines flight HA 39 over there and flew on HA 40 on the way back.

So why am I sharing this with you today?

Because I know I'm not alone in receiving these little winks, signs, and confirmations.

I believe that Source, the Universe, God, our higher selves, our guides.. whatever you want to call it... continually try to help us connect the dots, confirm we're on the right track, show us love and support, or even just give us a good chuckle.

We've just got to pay attention and be open to these messages and they'll start showing up all around us... even in a warm, delicious dessert. Why not, right?

So the other reason why I'm sharing about my new banana bread spirit animal with you is because today's YouTube video shares more of my "Hawaii Style" 40th birthday celebration.

In addition to the fun stuff that Nick and I got up to on Maui, I also did some reflecting on my 30s and the first half of 2023 plus setting intentions for my 40s and the second half of 2023.
