The Easy Way to Do Hard Things

Many people view the ability to get yourself to do hard, uncomfortable things as a sign of self-discipline, willpower and strength.

While that may be true…

The feeling of effort, difficulty and challenge also indicates being out of the flow.

It indicates misalignment with our Total Self.

It’s a sign that we’re trying to do things on our own without a full connection to the power, wisdom and magic of the Source within.

Savvy conscious creators know that there’s another way.

They know that struggle is a choice. And, so is ease.

We can choose to “go it alone” by relying on effort and willpower to get the job done…

… or, we can tap into Source Energy and do so-called “hard” things with ease, flow, finesse and style.

What’s the secret?

Just like with all aspects of conscious creation and manifesting what we want in life, this too comes down to vibration, alignment and state of being.

The higher our vibration, the more aligned with our Total Self we are and the more ease and flow we tend to experience.

The flow state is simply a state of alignment with the Source within.

It’s being tapped into the intelligence, power, resourcefulness and ability of higher consciousness to do hard things… easily.

Personally, after many experiences of trying to do “hard” things like...

… I know that I much prefer tapping the magic of a flow state over relying on self-discipline, motivation, willpower or effort to get the job done.

So, in the spirit of making hard things easier, below are three tips I’ve discovered along the way for diminishing effort and maximizing ease.

Tip #1: Does it even need to be done at all?

Before attempting to do something that feels hard, it’s a great idea to ask ourselves if we even need to do it at all.

Sometimes, it can seem easier to operate based upon habit, routine or according to other people’s idea of what we should do.

When things start to feel hard, it’s always wise to check in and perhaps give ourselves permission to just not do the thing at all.

One good example of this is in business. There’s so much advice out there about what one “should” do to build a business.

But, since it’s not action that creates results but alignment, a lot of the action items that entrepreneurs put on their “must do” list are actually optional.

And, that’s not just true in business but in every area of life. There are many paths to the same destination, many ways to travel in order to arrive at our desired end result.

So, if something feels hard, it may be a sign from intuition letting us know that there’s another, better-feeling way.

In that case, instead of trying to do the hard thing, we can just let it go and allow ourselves to be guided to the easier option.

Tip #2: Build the fire of desire

Sometimes, we really want to do the thing that feels hard. So, just letting it go isn’t our best option.

My example for this is when I wanted to learn how to do psychic readings.

My teacher taught me to basically do the reading before I got onto the phone with the client. So, before speaking to someone who was a total stranger to me, I would already know intimate, personal things about them.

It used to feel very hard to get on the phone and share this kind of information. In the beginning, before I’d done very many readings and learned to trust in what I received from my intuition, I felt very afraid of being wrong or disappointing the client.

What helped flip the switch and make this hard thing easy?

Getting in touch with my “why.” Focusing upon my desire and excitement around why I wanted to do psychic readings in the first place.

If I could get this fire of desire burning strongly enough, it then became easy to get on the phone with a new client. I felt excited instead of afraid and energized instead of anxious.

Connecting strongly to our true heart’s desire automatically aligns us with the Source within who wants for us what we want for ourselves.

So, tapping into strong desire always brings with it the energy, clarity and flow required to more easily do whatever “hard” thing we want to do.

Tip #3: Breaks are your friend

Sometimes, things start to feel hard simply because we’ve been focusing too much or too long.

The trick is being able to tell when you start to shift from fun and flow and into the energy of effort and trying too hard.

At times like this, taking a break is usually the magic ticket back to Easy World.

My best example here is whenever I’m doing something creative, like writing this type of article, for example.

Sometimes, I’ll catch myself straining to find the right words to express what I most want to say. At times like this, it always works best if I just pull myself away from the computer and take a break.

Usually, while in “break mode” and doing some other, lighter, easier activity, the words will automatically start coming to me to perfectly describe what I’d been trying to say.

Or, when I return to the laptop, refreshed, I’m in a lighter, easier, more receptive energy that makes it so much easier to find the right words.

Ease and Flow is the Way to Go

Despite popular opinion, it’s not “lazy” or “unrealistic” to want things to be easy.

It’s a way of being that’s natural for us to experience and that indicates that we’re wisely tapping into the resources of the smartest, most capable, creative and powerful version of ourselves.

So, here’s to flipping that easy switch and letting ease and flow be the way we go.

Love and Magic,

Adrianne
